Fête de la Science 2020

For edition 2020 of the "fête de la science", on October 8th and 9th, several members of the SIMM shared their knowledge and the pleasure of science with school children (CM1).
Two workshops were organized at the ESPGG by Julie, Sandrine, Lucile, Loren (from SIMM) et Marion (from MIE). The children had the opportunity to watch the formation of alginate beads and foamy food. These workshops offered an entertaining introduction to the link between everyday products and scientific topics of the lab, such as polymers or surfactants.

Ludovic and Alexandre showed the school children how experiments and more generally everyday objects are designed and manufactured.
The children were very impressed by the digital machines in operation (machining centre, 3D printer and laser cutter). They were able to leave with a souvenir made in front of them.
